Vor zehn Tagen startete ich einen neuen Versuch mit dem Swing-Stricken. Diesmal wagte ich mich an Heidrun Liegmanns Mützen-Anleitung. Das Garn, das ich mir ausgesucht hatte, ist dicker als das in der Anleitung vorgesehene, und mein erster Versuch geriet viel zu groß. Beim zweiten Versuch, mit weniger Maschen und drei Farben, stellte ich fest, dass immer dieselben Farben immer an der gleichen Stelle im Muster zu liegen kämen, das gefiel mir nicht. Deshalb startete ich ein drittes Mal, nicht nur mit weniger Maschen, sondern auch mit nur zwei Farben, und nun passte es.
Wie schon erwähnt, habe ich im Vergleich zur Originalanleitung kleine Änderungen vorgenommen; so stricke ich ein anderes “Pausen”-Muster und gestalte auch die Krempe anders. Der größte Teil ist schon fertig, es fehlen noch ein paar Runden an der Krempe, und dann muss die Mütze oben zusammengezogen werden. Ich bin schon sehr gespannt, wie sie in fertigem Zustand aussehen wird.

The yarn that I chose is thicker than stated in the instruction, and my first try turned out much too large. The second try, with less stitches and three colours, told me that the colour distribution was less than satisfying. So I started a third attempt, this time not only with less stitches but also with two colours only, and now it's right.
As already mentioned, I made small modifications to the original instruction. I used a different stitch for the “pauses” and for the brim. Most of the hat is done by now, there are some more rounds to work on the brim and then the top of the hat has to be closed somehow. I'm curious how it will look after finishing.
