After a three month break I started working again on my Brother KH 892, before that I had problems with working with a punched card. with your advice we managed to solve that problem, the machine was cleaned, the needle locking bar was changed. using your tips i tested it without wool with card and without card it worked great. After a long break, I wanted to work with cards, but with wool, and problems arose. The needles rise unequally to the D position, get stuck and skip parts of the pattern. Please help me, what could be the cause of this.
I will try to post photos.

Hi there, Donatela,

unfortunately, I'm no expert regarding punchcard machines.
To me it seems, however, that some of the needles do not fit properly into their channels. The needle "heels" (the pieces sticking out above the bed) should always be the same length, regardless of their position in A, B, D or E position.

First of all, you may want to remove the needle retaining bar and check each needle that seems to "sink" into the needle bed when they are brought forward. In their correct position, they should move easily, without needing additional force or getting caught anywhere and certainly without sinking down.

The foam side of the needle retaining bar is the underside, which stays in contact with the needles. When you re-insert this bar, you have to push the needle hooks down so the bar can slide over the needle stems smoothly and keep them down.

Maybe this will already help. If, however, mispatterning continues, I hope that some of our punchcard experts can help you with the pattering mechanism.

Best regards,
Kerstin

Hello Donatela,
I'm afraid I can't help with that.
If the mechanics work well without wool....but not with the wool?
I have no idea.
As Kerstin already wrote, check the needle.
Check the mechanics to see whether they are jamming again after six months of rest. (Brother recommends, even after a long break from work, to get the mechanics moving again for a few minutes by driving the carriage back and forth)
- Check the ease of movement of the carriage (levers, buttons, springs, etc).
-Unsuitable wool can also lead to errors.

I'm really sorry that I can't help you.

LG Petra

Thank you Kerstin and Petra for reading my problem. I ordered a new needle locking sponge, I'm waiting for it to be delivered to me in Zagreb, and then I'll go again according to the instructions Petra gave me. Test without wool and with wool, I hope I'll succeed.
Sorry for the mistakes, I'm working through google translator
Best regards
Donatela
