Der erste Schuh ist fertig und sieht allerliebst aus, wenn mir auch das Fußteil ein wenig lang erscheint. Abgesehen von der Kordel ist alles mit der Hand gestrickt. Die Kordel habe ich auf der Strickmaschine angefertigt, 80 Reihen über 4 Maschen. Man könnte vermutlich auch die Sohle und die Blütenblätter auf der Maschine stricken. Vielleicht probier ich das bei Gelegenheit noch mal aus. Das Fußoberteil muß auf jeden Fall von Hand gestrickt werden.
Das zweite Stiefelchen ist inzwischen angeschlagen. Diesmal habe ich 20 cm lange Nadeln genommen anstelle der kürzeren, das geht viel besser, und man sticht sich nicht ständig die Nadelenden in die Handfläche.
Half-time
The first bootie ist finished, looking absolutely adorable, even though the foot seems a bit long. Apart from the I-cord, I knit all pieces by hand. The I-cord is made on the knitting machine, 80 rows by 4 stitches. I suppose that the sole and petals could also be made on the machine. Maybe I’ll give it a try someday. The upper part of the foot needs to be knit by hand in any case.
The second booties is on the needles right now. This time I use 20 cm dpns instead of the shorter ones, they work much better, and I won’t constantly pierce my palms with the needle ends.
