Es ist Monatsmitte und damit höchste Zeit für meine April-Kopfbedeckung, die ich wieder im Rahmen des 12-Mützen-Wettbewerbs bei Ravelry präsentieren will.
Diesmal habe ich mich besonders ins Zeug gelegt. Aus einem von Frieda handgesponnenen Strang Kamel-Merino-Leinengemisch (knapp 100 g, 95 m Lauflänge) entstand dieser fast schon elegante Hut, gestrickt mit Nadelstärke 8 mm. Ich habe ihn dekoriert mit einem maschinegestrickten Hutband aus sehr dünnem Garn. Gestrickt habe ich das Band im Rippenmuster über je 11 Nadeln am vorderen und hinteren Nadelbett. Das ergab ein sehr dehnbares Gestrick, das sich gut in Form legen ließ. Damit der Hut insgesamt seine Form bekommt und behält, habe ich den Rand mit Hutdraht versteift. Den bekommt man z.B. bei Nehelenia.
It is middle of the month and thus high time for my April headgear, which I want to present in the 12-month-headgear contest at Ravelry.
This time I made a special effort. This almost elegant hat was made of a hank of camel-merino-linen mix, handspun by Frieda. It is knit with needle size 8 mm. I decorated it with a machine-knit band made of very fine yarn. This was made in full needle rib over 11 needles on each bed, resulting in a very stretchy fabric which can be arranged nicely. To shape the hat and make it retain said shape, I reinforced the brim with special wire for hats, available e.g. at Nehelenia.
