Bereits vor drei Tagen kam das Heft bei mir an, und in der Zwischenzeit hatte ich Gelegenheit, es durchzublättern.
Nun ja. Es wirft mich nicht um. Das einzige Modell, das mir spontan gefällt, ist “Stockport” (siehe Foto). Dafür sind aber einige Modelle im Heft, die ich für kaum überbietbare Wunder an Scheußlichkeit halte, allen voran das Jäckchen “Rona”, das mich fatal an Sofakissen aus den Fünfzigern erinnert, sowie das “Chorley Wrap”. Mit Quasten wie den dort angebrachten hat man Anfang des vorigen Jahrhunderts in gutbürgerlichen Wohnungen die Gardinen gebändigt, heute fesselt man damit als Flauschball verkleidete Frauen.
It’s already three days since the magazine arrived, and in the meantime I had the opportunity to leaf through it.
Oh well, it does not bowl me over. The only garment that I spontaneously like is “Stockport” (see photo). In contrast to this, I think some other items in the mag are simply horrid, foremost the “Rona” cardi, which reminds me fatally of sofa cushions in the Fifties, as well as the “Chorley Wrap”. Tassels like those attached there have been used at the beginning of the last century to tame curtains in bourgeois flats, today they are used to tie women disguised as fluffy balls.
