Bei der Jacke “Vivian” bin ich inzwischen an der Kapuze angelangt. Insgesamt müssen dafür 63 Reihen gestrickt werden, und gestern abend bin ich bis Reihe 43 gekommen.
Im oberen Bereich der Kapuze erwartet mich nochmals eine Unklarheit in der Anleitung. Ich habe bisher nicht herausfinden können, ob die Abnahmen nur innerhalb des Perlmusters oder unter Einbeziehung der benachbarten Maschen erfolgen sollen. Je nachdem verändert sich der Sitz am Scheitel etwas.
Am Ende müssen noch diverse Fäden vernäht und ein Reißverschluss beschafft und eingenäht werden.

With the “Vivian” jacket I’ve meanwhile reached the hood. There are 63 rows to be worked altogether, and last night I got to row 43.
In the upper part of the hood there’s still a small obstacle in the instructions. So far I was unable to find out whether the decreases are only to take place inside the seed stitch panel or by including the cable stitches next to the seed stitch panel. Depending on this, the fit of the hood will change slightly.
At the very end there will be several threads to be finished, and a zip must be bought and sewn in.

Die erste Schulterpasse der “Vivian”-Jacke ist fertig. Ich hatte zunächst großen Respekt davor, aber dann erwies sich das Ganze als sehr durchdacht konstruiert, es ließ sich mühelos stricken und sieht gut aus. Echte Nähte gibt es hier nicht, nur zusammengestrickte Maschen. Die muss man möglichst fest stricken.

Auf dem Bild kann man vielleicht erkennen, dass ich den Verlauf der Verkreuzungen an einigen Stellen abgeändert habe. Ich mag es lieber, wenn die Maschen immer schön abwechselnd eins drunter, eins drüber gehen und wenn nicht immer nur in eine Richtung verkreuzt wird. Zum Glück kann man Zopfmuster ja stricken, wie sie einem gefallen.

The first shoulder of the “Vivian” jacket is finished. At first I was a bit concerned about how to do it, but then it proved to be very cleverly thought out. It was easy to knit and looks good. There are no sewn seams here, only stitches knit together. They should be worked quite tight.

Can you see that in some places I changed the direction of the stitches crossed? I prefer the stitches going over and under in turn, as opposed to crossing them always in the same direction. Luckily, cable patterns can be knit as you like them.
