Derzeit habe ich zwar recht viele WIPs auf den Nadeln, darunter auch mindestens eines, das nur sehr schleppend vorankommt. Aber das ist ja kein Grund, nicht mit etwas Neuem anzufangen. Wenn also insgesamt acht Stunden Bahnfahrt anstehen und man möglichst leichtes Gepäck mitnehmen will, dann ist ein Lace-Projekt mit einem nicht zu komplizierten Muster eine gute Wahl.
Noch vor der Abfahrt begann ich deshalb mit dem Spring Thaw Shawl. Dies ist wieder einmal eine kostenlose Anleitung, die man über Ravelry herunterladen kann. Mein Garn ist dunkelgrün, das finde ich gut geeignet für ein Blattmuster. 🙂 Nach meiner Rückkehr ist nun der Stand auf dem Bild erreicht.
Leider geht aus der Anleitung nicht hervor, wie viele Rapporte im Grundmuster man mit ungefähr 600 m Garn stricken darf, damit es noch für die Abschlusskante reicht. Das ist aber wohl auch schwierig abzuschätzen, weil es von der Nadelstärke und der persönlichen Strickweise abhängt.
Currently I have quite a lot of WIPs on the needles, and among them at least one that ist progressing more than slowly. But there’s no reason not to start with something new anyway. So when an eight hours train journey is lying ahead and heavy luggage is not recommended, a not too difficult lace project is a good choice.
I started the Spring Thaw shawl before departure. This pattern, again, is available for free via Ravelry. My yarn is dark green and I think it’s very suitable for a leaf pattern. 🙂 The photo shows the status after returning from my trip.
Unfortunately the instruction does not state how many repeats can be knit in body pattern to make sure there is still enough yarn (of my total of 600 m) left for the border. But this is probably difficult to estimate because it depends on the needle size and personal way of knitting.
