Zwei der vier WIPs, die ich kürzlich erwähnte, sind mittlerweile beendet. Der grüne Zopfpullover wurde vom Empfänger für gut befunden, und meine Version der “Katharine” vest von Eunny Jang aus dem IWK-Frühjahrsheft stelle ich Euch hiermit vor.
Eigentlich habe ich nur die Idee für einen Pullunder mit Wickeleffekt übernommen. Das Garn, das ich verwendete, ist eine feine reine Merinowolle (etwa 200 g Lanartus “Lana 200”, 185 m/50 g) und viel elastischer als die Baumwoll-Woll-Mischung des Originals. Sämtliche Blenden sind fester gestrickt und geben dem Kleidungsstück mehr Halt und Struktur. Die seltsamen kleinen Ärmelchen mochte ich nicht leiden und habe sie durch konventionelle Ärmelblenden ersetzt. Und das Lochmuster ist bei mir auch ein anderes, weil das Originalmuster nicht für die Strickmaschine geeignet war. Für Interessierte: Ich nahm das eingebaute Muster Nr. 144 aus dem “Brother Stitchworld” Heft.
Man muss meine Version nicht mögen, aber mir gefällt sie besser als das Original. 🙂
Two of the four wips I mentioned recently have been finished.
The light green cable sweater is appreciated by its owner, and now I’m introducing you to my version of Eunny Jang’s “Katharine” vest from IWK spring 2008.
Actually I only took her idea of a vest with a wrap effect. The yarn I used is a fine pure merino (about 200 g Lanartus “Lana 200”, 185 m per 50 g) and much more elastic than the original cotton/wool mix. All bands are firmer, giving more support and structure to the garment. I did not like the strange little cap sleeves, so I replaced them by conventional bands. And I substituted the lace pattern because the original pattern was not suitable for the knitting machine. For those interested: I used the built-in pattern 144 from the “Brother Stitchworld” book.
No need to like my version, but I prefer it to the original. 🙂
