Die verstrickte Dienstagsfrage:
Gibt es Stricktechniken, an die du dich noch nie herangetraut hast? Welche?
Oh, da gibt es so allerlei. Zunächst mal Fair Isle von Hand. Ich habe das mal probiert und wurde fast wahnsinnig, weil ich die Fadenspannung nicht sauber kontrollieren konnte und die Fäden sich hoffnungslos verwirrten. Das war dann der Grund, dass ich mir die erste Strickmaschine kaufte. 🙂 Davon abgesehen finde ich klassisches Fair Isle mit vielfarbigen waagerechten Musterbändern zwar schön anzusehen, aber nicht unbedingt für jeden Typ kleidsam. Und ich stricke ungern Dinge, in denen man aussieht wie ein bunt angestrichenes Fass. Die Steeks würden mich übrigens nicht ängstigen; ich habe bereits mehrmals Gestricktes mit der Schere behandelt, ohne dass die Welt unterging. 🙂
Ebenfalls noch nie gestrickt habe ich Entrelac, Schulz-Technik und Freiform. Es gibt vermutlich noch mehr, nur fällt mir gerade nicht mehr dazu ein.

Are there any knitting techniques that you did not try so far? Which?
Oh, there are several of them. First, Fair isle by hand. I’ve tried it and it almost drove me crazy because I was unable to properly control the tension and the threads tangled beyond hope. This was the reason for buying my first knitting machine. 🙂 Apart from this I find classic fair isle with multicoloured patternd bands lovely to look at, but not very becoming for every type of body. And I do not enjoy knitting things that make me (or you or anybody) look like a multicoloured barrel. By the way, steeks do not threaten me, I’ve several times tackled knitting with scissors without causing the end of the world. 🙂
More techniques that I have not tried so far: Entrelac, Schulz and freeform. I’m sure there is even more, it just does not come to mind right now.
