Ich bin immer noch damit beschäftigt, meine gigantischen Garnvorräte ein wenig zu verringern (nein, ich werde nicht sagen, wieviel es ist). Dieser Westover dürfte einen netten Beitrag dazu leisten. Das Garn ist reine Schurwolle mit einer Lauflänge von 66 Metern auf 100 g. Ich stricke mit Nadelstärke 7 mm. Das Zopfmuster ist eine Abwandlung der “Double X vest” aus Janet Szabos Newsletter “Twists and Turns”, Ausgabe Winter 2003. Ich habe es etwas kleiner gemacht, weil die Originalversion zu voluminös für das dicke Garn war.
Ausnahmsweise habe ich das Vorderteil zuerst gestrickt. Der V-Ausschnitt sollte sich sauber in das Muster einfügen. Das erforderte beim Entwerfen etwas Zählarbeit, aber mit dem Ergebnis bin ich zufrieden.
In case it should get cold
I’m still trying to reduce my gigantic yarn stash (and no, I won’t tell you how much it really is), and this vest should contribute nicely to my goal. It is made of pure new wool with a yardage of 66 meters per 100 g. I knit with 7 mm needles. The cable pattern is a variation of Janet Szabo’s “Double X” vest from her winter 2003 newsletter “Twists and Turns”. I used less stitches as the original version proved a little bit too massive for my very thick yarn.
For once, I started with the front. I wanted the V neckline to fit neatly into the pattern. It took some counting in advance, but so far I’m happy with the result.
