Mein neues Kleid

Heute wurde es fertig. Gemäß Burda-Schnitt 3477 ist es “einfach”, aber ich fand es gar nicht so leicht, damit zurechtzukommen. Dabei hatte ich noch einen relativ gutmütigen Stoff verwendet. Laut Schnittmuster werden Leinen,Krepp oder Baumwolle vorgeschlagen; ich habe Cool Wool verwendet, weil man das leichter verarbeiten kann. Mit etwas Dampf bekommt man dieses Material in fast jede gewünschte Form. Dennoch bin ich mit meinem Ergebnis zufrieden. So ein vollständig gefüttertes Kleid hat schon etwas Luxuriöses, und wenn der Futterstoff sorgfältig von Hand gegen den (unsichtbar eingenähten) Reißverschluß staffiert ist, sieht es fast wie ein Modellkleid aus. 😉

I finished it today. According to Burda pattern 3477, it is “easy”, but I did not find it easy at all, although I used a relatively good-natured fabric. The pattern suggests linen, crêpe or cotton; I used Cool Wool because I find it easier to handle. A well-placed steam shot will mould it into virtually any shape you want.
I am very satisfied with my efforts, though. A fully lined dress gives a feeling of luxury, and the lining meticulously sewn to the (invisibly sewn-in) zipper by hand reminds you of a haute couture garment. 😉
